I'm absolutely buzzing with excitement right now! The author's copy of my new book, " Great Book of Spoon Carving Patterns " has arrived! I can't thank the wonderful folks at Fox Chapel Publishing for the fabulous job they have done! I have always wanted to create a pattern book that is rich and informative, full of exciting designs that are accompanied by actual finished pieces...and this is it!! It's a book that illustrates the rich traditions of the golden age of Northern European romantic spoon carving and that will inform and engage all spoon carvers, be they of artistic or utilitarian persuasion. I believe that there truly is something for every spoon carver to found within its pages. For me, this book has been a labour of love in every sense of the expression. I am very, very proud of the results and hope that it will open the door for many other carvers to enjoy this proud, varied and exhilarating tradition!
